Melbourne City Hall

We completed the design-build RFQ process on the five-story, 60,000-sqaure-foot Melbourne, FL, City Hall. Amenities: enclosed air-conditioned elevator lobby, two stairwells, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting with intelligent lighting controls, fire alarm syste, and stand-by generator. CEG was proud to provide civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design on this 2.5-acre site.

Fire Station

CEG provided SMEP design engineering services for Fire Station No. 51 in Cocoa Beach, FL. The station is a 19,250-square-foot building with a 5,590-sqaure-foot bay and is a modern facility that was built to withstand winds of at least 160 mph. Included at the station are individual dorms for firefighters, a large day room, a 45-foot training tower and a classroom that can double as an emergency operations center.

Palm Bay City Hall Annex

This three-story, 27,000-square-foot project in Palm Bay, FL, consisted of municipal office space to consolidate rented facilities into a central public service complex. The LEED-certified building included administrative offices for budget, building, finance, city manager, city attorney and other municipal departments. The new HVAC system consisted of a high-efficiency, air-cooled chiller connected to VAV AHUS serving each floor. The system featured demand-control ventilation that provides outside air to dilute CO2 in each zone. Since the OA is limited until needed, significant energy savings are realized. LED lighting was used to maximize energy efficiency throughout the facility. The entire building was added to an existing standby generator.
