CEG Federal and Aerospace Projects
Blue Origin 15-003 Annex
The scope of this project included providing HVAC and pluming design services for the construction of a 25,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building at Kennedy Space Center. Design services included HVAC and plumbing calculations and analysis of the required systems, recommendation for various energy-efficient HVAC systems and low-flow plumbing fixtures, mechanical and plumbing construction drawings, energy calculations, and support of Green Globes Certification.
NASA VAB HB3 Platform
Analysis and removal of seven of the existing extensible platforms housed in High Bay 3 of the Vertical Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center to an on-site demolition area. Analysis included crane and sling capacity verification, center of gravity analysis, VAB ground floor system capacity for transporter loads and wind load analysis of platforms during demolition.
Thales
This project involved the renovation of a 112,500-square-foot, two-story building design in Melbourne, FL, including a roof-mounted antenna farm, mini-sil room, server room and production IT room. The scope of this project included full SMEP design as well as additional specialty scope for HVAC, plumbing and electrical. The HVAC scope included expanding/modifying the existing chilled-water HVAC system and controls, code-required ventilation, air distribution, condensate piping and duct work. Internal piping and connection details for sanitary, domestic water, compressed air system with isometrics and equipment schedules were included in the plumbing scope. Electrical design services included power, panel schedules, single-line diagrams, lighting that included lighting controls and riser diagram (voice and data communication), and fire alarm system. The MEP design team is assisting with construction administration.
Testimonials
“CEG closely coordinated throughout the projects with the Port staff, our police chief and fire marshal. CEG has been responsive anytime we need additional assistance and effectively communicates with us in our experience to date. I feel that CEG has been an integral part of the success of these two projects (Port police station, and fire station).”
